Serial Number One $5 Florida Date Back
Jacksonville, FL - $5 1902 Date Back Fr. 590 The Atlantic NB Ch. # (S)6888This serial number 1 note is one of just two known from this bank and one of fewer than ten number 1 Blue Seals reported from the entire state. It is an item of major importance to all serious collectors of this state's notes, and, needless to say, an item which is seldom available from any Florida location. This piece has been part of the Sunshine State Collection since it was last offered in our May, 2001 sale, where it realized what now appears to be the bargain price of $4675. This note has been graded Very Fine 20 Net by PMG, with the notation on the holder "restoration," and, when the note is candled, a couple of small areas of professional enhancement can be seen at the top. These are indeed quite minor, and the overall eye appeal here is easily that of a real VF.
