Description
Rare District of Columbia 1875 Ace
Washington, DC - $1 1875 Fr. 384 The German-American National
Bank Ch. # 2358 PMG Choice Fine 15.A rare District type and denomination from a rare bank which issued First Charters only for only about a year before entering receivership in November of 1878. Only eight aces are known from all DC banks combined, including this offering. Five notes are known in total from this bank in all denominations, a surprising total for a bank which had a minuscule $270 outstanding in 1916. This piece exhibits even wear, solid paper, and low serial number 5 as a bonus.
