Description

Unique for the Town

Thompson, CT - $1 Original Fr. 380 The Thompson NB Ch. # 1477
When we offered this note back in 2004, it was a discovery item, the first example from this community to surface. We mentioned that Thompson was one of only three Connecticut towns remaining on the unknown list, and, considering the short life of this bank and the bank's limited issue, that this piece might well remain forever unique. We also noted that it was a true Connecticut trophy note worth whatever it takes to bring it home, as only one fortunate collector would be able to boast of owning any note from this location tomorrow morning. That fortunate collector was our consignor. This piece is still unique, and likely to remain so forever, with this evening's offering allowing one other fortunate collector the opportunity to add a new town and a unique note to his holdings. PCGS Fine 15, an evenly circulated piece with no flaws for the grade whatever.
