Norwich, CT - $1 Original Fr. 380 The Thames NB Ch. # 657
This institution was by far the largest of Norwich's eight National banks, issuing continuously from 1865 through 1929. While more than a few Original aces are reported, this piece, which was acquired by our consignor at the sale of the Q. David Bowers collection of First Charter ones, is the nicest of any listed in the census. PCGS Very Fine 25, and bearing the blue Treasury number at the left signifying its early issue.
