Rare San Jose 1882 $50 Date Back
San Jose, CA - $50 1882 Date Back Fr. 560 The First National
Bank Ch. # (P)2158 PMG Very Fine 20.This great note is one of only twenty-eight $50 Date Backs known from all California banks combined, and one of only two $50 Date Backs reported from this bank. Crossing the auction block for the first time, this nicely margined piece displays excellent color for the grade and dark printed signatures. PMG mentions a minor repair, but nothing is readily apparent. Six years ago, we auctioned the other known $50 Date Back from here, in a PMG Very Fine 20 Net holder, for $9,000.
