San Francisco, CA - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 475 The San Francisco NB Ch. # (P)5096While this bank liquidated in 1910 and only issued Second Charter notes, the total issue totalled more than $2.8 million. Brown Backs are plentiful today, giving many collectors an opportunity to own one, and this is a particularly affordable one since the large majority of survivors are high grade notes from a small hoard. Very Good overall, a bit better perhaps save for some mild soiling.
