Description

Low Serial Number 3 Livermore Red Seal

Low Serial Number 3 Livermore, CA - $5 1902 Red Seal Fr. 588 The First National Bank Ch. # (P)8002 PMG Very Fine 30.
This offering is a wonderful low serial number Red Seal from a downright rare Alameda County bank that was only in business from 1905 until its closure in 1923. Just six notes are reported from this charter - four Blue Seals and two low number Red Seals. This piece, which is being publicly offered for the first time, is one of those two Red Seals. It is a pen signed beauty with bright paper, a bold overprint, and low serial number 3. Earlier this year, the other known Red Seal, bearing low number 2 and also graded at the 30 level by PMG, fetched $9,000 at auction.
