Los Angeles, CA - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 484 The National Bank of Los Angeles Ch. # (P)4096 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.To be sure, this is not a rare LA bank due to the discovery of several Gem $5 Brown Backs many years ago. However, $10 Brown Backs from any Los Angeles bank cannot be considered common. This is easily the finest of just seven such pieces reported from this charter and it traces its provenance to the sale of The Philip Krakover Collection in 1990. It is a well margined beauty with vibrant ink colors and just light, even wear.
