Large Auburn Note- One of Two Known
Auburn, AL - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 609 The First NB Ch. # 12455A great rarity from the Kennedy holdings which is one of the two large notes known from this rare one bank location. This piece is considerably superior to the Loegler collection example (sold as "The Only Known Large Size"), which realized $14,950 when auctioned last year. Don't look for more large examples from here, as the bank had just $435 outstanding when it closed. Bright Very Fine+, the signatures faded, but a most attractive piece nevertheless.
