Description
Currency Vignette. Charles Burt vignette entitled Justice, which appeared on the 1863-65 $100 Interest Bearing and Compound Interest Treasury Notes. This vignette is approximately two inches square, with title and "Bureau, Engraving & Printing" below, on India paper mounted on card. Pencil notations on the currency use of the image according to Friedberg designations, and the Burt attribution appear on the card. Both vignette and card are lightly foxed, not affecting the image
