The Famous "Polar Bear" Vignette.This is an attractive proof of the popular "Polar Bear" vignette that is mounted on card stock. It is one of the great vignettes in Obsoletes and depicts a polar bear attacking four hunters in a boat in the midst of an ice bound sea. A note from the Continental Bank of Boston with this vignette is listed in the book, 100 Greatest American Currency Notes by Q. David Bowers and David M. Sundman, where the note is number 24, which makes it the second highest ranking Obsolete among that prestigious listing. Just the slightest handling is noticed on the edges of this About Uncirculated example which certainly provides an inexpensive opportunity to acquire this always in demand vignette.
