Description

Weyerhaeuser Kidnapping Ransom Bill List. A special edition of the June 4, 1935 Los Angeles examiner giving the serial numbers of every bill in the $200,000 ransom paid to recover the nine-year-old son of the lumber tycoon J.P. Weyerhaeuser. All eight pages list the $20, $10 and $5 bills that went into the ransom. George Weyerhauser was recovered, unharmed, and lived to become chairman of the lumber company. The kidnappers were caught, tried and convicted, and the last of them was released from prison in 1963. A modern six-page article with all the details of the kidnapping is included.
