Description

Senator Robert F. Kennedy (1925-68) Autographed Letter May 20, 1968 Not Graded.
This letter is on United States Senate letterhead paper and is from the "United States Senate Committee on Labor and Public Welfare Washington, D.C. 20510." The letter reads:

Thank you for your letter concerning the retirement test of the Social Security system. You may know that during Senate consideration of the Social Security Amendments of 1967, a floor amendment was submitted which would increase the earnings limitation to $2400 per year. I voted for this amendment, which passed, and was included in the Senate bill. However, it was modified in Conference to conform with the House provision to increase the earnings limitation from $1500 to $1680.
For this, and many other reasons, I voted against acceptance of the Conference Report. You can be sure I will continue to work for a more adequate Social Security system in the future.
Sincerely,
Robert F. Kennedy

This letter is not graded, but has the usual folds plus a corner fold.
