Postal Savings System Series 1939 $2; $5 (2); $10; $500 1942-53 Very Fine or Better.One of each denomination has been paid and the amount of interest is penned on the face. The second $5 has not been redeemed and it has a large archival tape repair on the back along with bleed-through on to the back. One example each is from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania, while two certificates are from Connecticut. Any claims for redemption have not been honored after July 13, 1985.
