Pennsylvania and Wheeling Proof Checks circa 1850s.Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia Savings Institution Check 18__ Proof
Wheeling, VA- Merchants and Mechanics Bank of Wheeling, VA Check 18__ Proof.
One Proof of the former and two Proof checks of the latter are partiallty mounted on thin card stock. Both have check registers and were printed by Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Huffy. Edge wear is noticed with the longest tear being approximately 1.5 inches. The card stock has on the back an ink transference impression of a $100-$50-$10-$5 uncut sheet on the Lumberman's Bank at Warren, Pennsylvania. All of this is counted as a single item. Extremely Fine. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
