Description

Framed Andrew Carnegie Signed Letter and Reproduced Photo
An attractively framed letter typed on Andrew Carnegie's letterhead dated November 26, 1907 to Doctor Gilman of Baltimore, MD that was signed by Carnegie. Also housed in the frame is an attractive black and white photo of Carnegie wearing a top hat. He was an entrepreneur best known for his steel business and for building Carnegie Hall. Carnegie (1835-1919), who had access to books as a young man due to the generosity of a citizen in Allegheny, donated several thousand library buildings throughout the English-speaking world. The trusts he created and the endowments he made to institutions continue to benefit many today. He truly was one of the "Captains of Industry."
