Description
A 39" Long Trifold Point-of-Purchase Macerated Sales Item
Extremely Rare Excellent Condition Macerated Sales Item.Henri M. Stewart was one of the final entrants into the macerated souvenir world. His label appears on a small number of known macerated pieces, all of which are made of very fine, light gray macerated currency. This hardwood and cardboard 39" long display item stands 12" tall and was placed in banks and various stores where his macerated pieces were being marketed. The piece bears a 1927 copyright date. The left and right wings have actual macerated profiles of Lincoln and Washington along with cut-down color postcards of the Treasury Building and the Capitol Building. The items for sale were laid out in front of this display. We know of only three others, one of which is incomplete. This one is essentially perfect, although it does have some minor repairs above and into the orange circle picturing the Capitol dome. We will not quote all the text on this display item, as it will be visible in the scan. This would be the centerpiece item in any macerated collection that was lucky enough to contain one. It could easily be decades before another appears on the market.
