Special 50th Anniversary B Prefix Printing of Disney $50 Notes
Disney Dollars Disneyland $50 2005 50th Anniversary "Boyer
Design" Rodgers R-120 PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ.On the 50th anniversary of the opening of Disneyland on July 17, 2005 a special issue of 1,955 $50 Disney notes were issued. Series 2005 is the only issue that includes this denomination. These Disney notes carry the new vignette of Mickey Mouse looking into a mirror and seeing a reflection of himself from long ago. The first 100 serial numbers were autographed by the artist Charles Boyer and his son Bruce and then framed. The example in this lot is one of the other non-autographed 1,855 notes that can be identified by the printed signature of "C. Boyer" to the immediate right of Mickey's center vignette plus the prefix B serial number. Prefix letters on Disney notes were used to identify the various issuing entities except in this case where prefix B was used to designate this special printing of 1,955 notes designed by Charles Boyer. PMG has graded only 17 R-120 notes with three graded equal and three higher all by a single grade point. Serial number B00000751 in this lot is our first offering of this rare Rodgers number.
