Dealer in Leaf Tobacco Special Tax Stamp Books, Fifteen examples.When the special tax stamps were sent to the district tax collectors who sold them to business owners or individuals, they were sent in books of ten stamps with a ledger page. When the stamps sold, the stub and any unused coupons were kept in the book. The books had cardboard marble looking covers. This lot contains fifteen books of "Dealer in Leaf Tobacco" stamps. Years and numbers of books are: 1875 (2); 1876 (5); 1878 (3); 1882 (3); and 1883 (2). The amount of stamps remaining varies from book to book. These items are not graded and there will be no returns on this lot for any reason. (Total: 15 items)
