C(ornelius) Vanderbilt Autographed Card. Not Graded.Some tape and mounting residue on card verso. Signed "C. VanDerbilt." Undated.
Cornelius Vanderbilt (1794-1877) rose to be one of the greatest American capitalists beginning his career at the age of 16 as an owner-operator of a small ferryboat. Nicknamed "The Commodore", he rose to become President of the New York & Harlem Railroad and helped transform the industrial and transportation landscape of the United States. A shipping and railroad magnate who became one of the few wealthiest people in American history. His autograph in any form is a very desirable item.
