Description

Lindbergh Baby Kidnap Ransom Serial Number Listing.
On March 1, 1932 Charles Lindbergh, Jr, the baby of aviator Charles Lindbergh and his wife, Anne, was kidnapped in New Jersey. A ransom was paid and the baby was found dead in May 1932. Eventually, Bruno Hauptmann would be executed for the "Crime of the Century" as it was called at the time. This is a 17 by 26 inch listing on newsprint of the serial numbers of the notes that made up the ransom. It was printed by the Government Printing Office in 1932. The New Jersey State Police Colonel H.N. Schwarzkopf listed on the sheet was the chief investigator of the kidnapping. He was also the father of General Norman Shwarzkopf of Desert Storm fame. There is some splitting along the folds and an approximate two inch top edge tear. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
