Description

Group of Die Proof Vignettes Engraved by Owen Hanks Eleven Items.
All of the die proofs in this grouping, except one were engraved by Owen Hanks and are printed on India paper, mounted to die-sunk card stock. Each is in nice original condition and may have some soiling and toning of the card stock due to years of storage. Any more significant exceptions will be noted.
An untitled die proof of a farmer plowing with a two-horse team taking a water break. An annotation on the card indicates Felix Darley was the artist and Hanks the engraver.
A second copy of the above proof with the same annotations.
A die proof designated AUTUMN FRUIT / AMERICAN BANK NOTE CO. / 166 depicting a woman sitting under a grape arbor with a basket of fruit at her feet. An annotation on the card indicates Hanks was the engraver and the proof completed in 1860.
