Series 472 10¢ Replacement Second Printing
Series 472 10¢ Replacement PMG About Uncirculated 53.A very rare Second Printing dime replacement for Series 472 to say the least. Fred Schwan's roster includes 49 First Printing examples on page 265 of the fourth edition of Comprehensive Catalog of Military Payment Certificates, but he only lists two Second Printing replacements in that 2002 reference. Serial number C00672121 in this lot is one of that exclusive club. The recently auctioned Paymaster Collection lacked an example of this replacement from the Second Printing. The back label tells us of minor rust, pinholes, and tears. This well margined replacement probably acquired these mishaps while performing its duty when it was mounted as a display in a military facility.
