Description
Gem Uncirculated Treasury Twenty
Fr. 375 $20 1891 Treasury Note PCGS Gem New 65. A very attractive piece from the run that has supplied collectors with Uncirculated examples of this scarce and popular type. The colors are excellent, and the margins are more than acceptable for the Gem grade level. This type had been unavailable in high grade until a decade ago, when a small group of Uncirculated notes unexpectedly appeared. John Marshall, whose portrait appears on this note, served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He died in 1835. The portrait on the note was engraved by Charles Schlecht, from an oil done by Harry Inman.Auction Info
