Fr. 355 $2 1890 Treasury Note PMG Choice Very Fine 35.An attractive, moderately circulated example of this McPherson Ornate Back. Excellent color graces both sides of this pretty note. The design concept in 1890 was seemingly to cover every square inch of the back with engraved work of every kind. In 1891 the opposite design philosophy was employed with lots of white space drawing the eyes' attention to few engraved features. Most of the Coin Note denominations featured portraits of Union military officers.
