EPQ.A remarkable Gem example, this Ornate Back Treasury Ace has nearly flawless paper quality and excellent margins for the issue. This note is an "old friend" that last crossed the auction block in our 2001 FUN Signature Auction where we called it a full Gem and PMG has agreed with our initial assessment. It is an outstanding small red seal 1890 Treasury Ace, and a note that should receive considerable interest from bidders tonight. By way of comparison, we auctioned an identically graded example of this Friedberg number in our 2024 Long Beach auction for $19,800. This beautiful note certainly could certainly challenge that realization.
