Rare Small Red Seal 1880 $20 Silver
Fr. 312 $20 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 20."Only 34 notes are known of this Friedberg number, none of which is reported in the Track & Price census above the AU grade, and none has ever been called higher than AU at public sale. This VF 20 is a highly pleasing piece for the grade, with excellent color and particularly nice margins for this traditionally narrow-margined type. PMG has noted 'Margin Repairs' and there are indeed two tiny margin splits which have been neatly closed." That was our description in our April 2008 auction. Since that time, the Track & Price census has risen by a single note. PMG has graded eight, with a 35 the highest and PCGS has graded four, with a 50 the highest.
