Fr. 311 $20 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 30.A handsome example of this popular Silver Certificate type. The portrait is particularly lifelike, and that, along with the vivid brown seal and "XX", brings to the note the appearance of a higher graded piece. This is likely the reason this note has long been listed in the census as a XF example. Its only detracting factor is that its margins have been trimmed. In our recent Long Beach auction, we sold another PMG Very Fine 30 note, with spindle holes, for $5,520.
