Description
New to the Census Triple Signature $20 Silver Certificate - One of Now Eleven Known
Fr. 308 $20 1880 Silver Certificate PCGS Very Fine 20.A new note to the Track & Price Census, bringing the total known up to 11 pieces. PCGS has accurately graded this as a VF 20, with the italic grade indicating, "Minor Restorations." We are positive that is accurate, but the minor restorations have been executed with consummate skill and are impossible to see through the third party holder. The note is well margined, with sharp printing, strong color for the grade, and the eye appeal that one would expect from a VF 25 or 30. All triple signatures are classic rarities for large size collectors and even with the low census of 11 pieces, this is still one of the more available examples. In April 2017 we sold a PCGS Apparent 12 for $23,500. The presence of a triple signature note elevates any collection and we are quite certain this pretty piece with its large brown seal and stately vignette will attract considerable bidder attention.
