Fr. 290 $10 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Fine 12.An elusive "one number Friedberg design," Fr. 290 features a large red Treasury Seal and is without the large brown "X" denomination counter at bottom center. Track & Price has documented 50 examples including the comment-free third party graded piece in this lot. Several of that 50 are beyond the reach of collectors as the Federal Reserve Banks of New York, Chicago, San Francisco (2), and the Smithsonian Institution hold a total of five of them.
