Description

Moderately Circulated Morris $10 Silver with EPQ Designation

Fr. 287 $10 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ.
The Morris $10 Silver included in this lot presents itself as an excellent representative of the type. A bold brown overprint containing the Treasury Seal and a large "X" denoting the denomination is showcased at center on the face. Balanced margins and bright, entirely original paper surfaces are also noticed. For these attributes, PMG has granted the coveted Exceptional Paper Quality designation. A well printed portrait of Robert Morris is featured at left. Morris carries the distinction of being one of just two individuals to sign the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and U.S. Constitution, with the other individual being Roger Sherman. Many surviving examples of this scarcer number attracted an array of problems, but our current offering is free of any significant detractors and should thus see spirited competition from our bidders.
