EPQ.The $5 Chief note is an always popular type with Large Size currency collectors. Our current offering is among the nicest we have auctioned throughout the years for its grade level. Deep serial number and Treasury Seal embossing, splendid blue overprint and green back colors, and brilliant white paper with full paper surface originality all contribute to the lofty Choice Uncirculated grade this example has been awarded. For these attributes, PMG has also granted this piece the Exceptional Paper Quality accolade. We auctioned another PMG 64 EPQ certified piece of the Fr. 281 number, which represents the last signature combination for the type, in October 2025, and that note brought $6,600.
