Fr. 271 $5 1899 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 68PPQ.A colorful example that is never seen at this stratospheric grade level. This is the only note that PCGS has graded at 68PPQ for this Friedberg number. The margins are astounding, the deep embossing original and easily seen, and the centering of both sides of the note is micrometer-perfect. A real looker that should see a battle to acquire it. Track & Price list 1025 Fr. 271's as of November 2012. PCGS has 255 of them. This note remains the lone 68PPQ with nothing higher. When last auctioned in January 2009, this stunning Chief realized $46,000.
