Fr. 270 $5 1896 Silver Certificate Extremely Fine. This Fr. 270 has terrific paper originality with good embossing remaining, as well as huge margins and tremendous eye appeal. There is some very minor paper aging in the bottom margin of the back, but this trifling defect is barely worth mentioning on this otherwise splendid example. Fr. 270 is by far the rarest of the three Five Dollar Educational notes. There are nearly 400 Fr. 268's known, 260 Fr. 269's and fewer than 140 Fr. 270's.Auction Info
