Immaculate $5 Educational
Fr. 268 $5 1896 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.The $5 Educational design is one of the most appreciated in terms of artistic quality, though its edge to edge complexity often hides important attributes common to only high grade notes. In this case, the design does little to overshadow the bold embossing and bright, fresh paper. The inks are deeply printed and still finely detailed, with a cherry red seal at bottom left falling off the note. Collectors have been afforded few Superb Gem offerings in the last couple of years, with the most two recent examples of the type topping the $40,000 mark.
