Description

Fr. 267 $5 1891 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 30.
A nicely margined and exceptionally bright example of the "Open Back" variety for the type. Although these 1891 Silver Certificate $5s are considerably scarcer than the previous series that shared the same face, they tend to bring lower prices, as collectors are charmed by the Silver Dollars that grace the back of the prior 1886 issue. A small edge tear in the right margin has been noted by PMG.
