High Grade 1899 $2 Silver Certificate Star
Fr. 256* $2 1899 Silver Certificate Star PMG Extremely Fine 40
EPQ.While low to mid-grade examples of this $2 star are fairly acquirable, the same cannot be said for XF or higher representatives. Deep serial number embossing and entirely original paper surfaces show through the third party holder beautifully. We have not auctioned a comparable Fr. 256* star note since October 2021, when a PMG Choice VF 35 EPQ encapsulated piece brought $2,400. We expect that our current offering will perform a bit better.
