Description
First Friedberg 247 Offering in Superb in Five Years
Fr. 247 $2 1896 Silver Certificate PMG Superb Gem Unc 67
EPQ.In the highest grades, Friedberg 247 is scarcer than 248. Just four examples are listed in the PMG Population Report in Superb Gem 67 EPQ, with nothing finer. As one of the most popular type notes for its artistic attributes, the grade is the perfect complement to its desirability. The margins are broad and even on all four sides. The printed devices are based on works by Edwin Blashfield, a celebrated contemporary American artist and were engraved by Charles Schlecht and G.F.C. Smillie. They are perfectly applied and preserved, with a bold Treasury Seal and serial numbers. Embossing is noted through the holder.
