Fr. 223 $1 1891 Silver Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.The Series 1891 $1 Silver Certificate, featuring a portrait of Martha Washington, had a revised back design with more white space intended to focus attention on fewer specific design details rather than to cover every square inch of the note with engraving. The note is in pristine condition, printed on paper that is bright, with original surfaces and ample margins. It retains vibrant original black, red, and green colors and appears to have come off of the press yesterday. Of the 1,219 examples of this Friedberg number recorded in the PMG Population Report at present, only ten carry grades higher than this note's assigned grade.
