Fr. 94 $10 1862 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 63
EPQ.A beautiful and nicely preserved New Series 2 $10 Legal with paper originality is in this lot. This piece has had only two previous auction appearances. The first was in the Hickman-Oakes June 1981 Memphis auction. The second was at our January 2016 FUN auction where it realized $49,350. PMG has graded 38 of this Friedberg number, with the example in this lot being far and away the nicest by 23 grade points. A broader look at Fr. 94 takes us to Track & Price. When only major grading services are taken into account, the same holds true there, with an enumerated population of 76. It will take one determined bidder in order to bring home this nicest known example.
