Fr. 83 Hessler UNL $5 1907 Legal Tender Face Proof PCGS Choice
New 63.The six zeroes serial numbers standout on this Woodchopper Face Proof with Vernon-Treat signatures that is unlisted in Hessler. The second edition of U.S. Essay, Proof and Specimen Notes by Gene Hessler lists only a single Woodchopper Proof and it is of the Rosecrans-Hyatt signature variety. Our current offering was printed on India paper, cut down to the appropriate size, and mounted to bonded paper in an album. Later, the album was disassembled so that all of the wonderful Proofs within could be enjoyed by as many collectors as possible.
