Exquisite 67PPQ Fr. 56 - None Finer
Fr. 56 $2 1880 Legal Tender PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.This top notch Fr. 56 last crossed the auction block at our January 2016 FUN auction. At that time we called it an exquisite deuce from a consecutive run of beautifully original and well preserved examples, each of which drips with vivid colors and shows excellent paper wave. None of the above qualities have changed in the last nine years when it comes to this beauty. Also, the last 67 on this Friedberg number to participate in an auction occurred in 2017. That PMG 67 EPQ piece realized $6,462. PMG has graded in total only three at this third party grade level and none higher. PCGS Banknote has not examined a single example above 66 PPQ. Quality prevails for this Friedberg number and the piece in this lot should surpass the earlier eight-year-old figure.
