Fr. 42 $2 1869 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.The 1869 $2 was the first of a series of issues that extended into the 1920s with minor design modifications, mostly involving the back design. The initial design included a band of blue stain that was to serve as an anti-counterfeiting feature. This, along with the red seal and black and green design elements, gave the note an array of attractive colors. It is printed on bright paper with decent margins and centering.
