Bright Gem Large Brown Seal 1880 Ace
Fr. 33 $1 1880 Legal Tender PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.Only 44 examples of this important Friedberg number are listed in the Track & Price census. There is a short run of Uncirculated notes, including this example, that skews the census toward the higher grade levels. This very well margined, boldly inked note was last on the market in our May 1998 auction where we called it a Gem. PMG has agreed with that assessment. In our recent FUN auction, we offered an identically graded example that realized $8,700.
