Fr. 18 $1 1869 Legal Tender PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
Only one recorded auction appearance has been made by this well preserved Rainbow Ace beauty. That appearance was at our September 2018 Long Beach auction where it realized $15,600. Our latest offering of a Fr. 18 in Gem was in January 2024, when we had a PMG 65 EPQ example realize $18,000. Natural paper wave and ideal color are observed on the plate letter C note in this lot, along with four broad margins that reveal a partial plate number at bottom center. Our current offering in a slightly higher third party grade should continue the upward trend.
