EPQ.With over 800 examples reported to date, this is not a rare Friedberg number, but truly high grade pieces are almost unobtainable. With the exception of a PCGS Gem 66PPQ note that we sold for $28,200 in 1915, this is the finest graded example that we have been able to offer of this number in over a dozen years. This note, which was last on the market in our 2008 Long Beach auction, is a real winner, with an exceptionally vivid red overprint, margins that are clear of the design at all points, and a fresh appearance that is unusual on these early Legal Aces.
