1917 $1 Legal Tender Mule Note, Fr-38, Very Fine. Large size mules are for the most part a largely unexplored area of United States paper money collecting. Only 20 Friedberg numbers are found with these mules that are back plate numbered in a new location. For Fr-38 and 39s the non-mule back plate number location is at approximately 4:30 on the left-hand side of the open space area and the mule location is at 6:00 of the left-hand side open space area. This mule example shows back plate number 2126 at 6:00. This Ace has bright and crispy paper with very sound edges. This is certainly a note that can open up new horizons to a collector.Auction Info
