Fr. 1190 $50 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Fine 15.One of only five examples known, this evenly circulated, problem-free PCGS 15 note was last on the market at the end of August 2005 when it realized $20,125. Of the five known examples, one is permanently impounded, leaving four for collectors. The highest graded piece is an XF 40. This Fine 15 is the second highest grade according to Track & Price, with the remaining three notes two VG 8s and a Fine 12. The opportunity to purchase any Friedberg 1190 can be spaced apart by decades and this solid Fine is likely to be avidly pursued on today's rarity conscious market.
