Fr. 1183* $20 1906 Gold Certificate Star PCGS Extremely Fine
45PPQ.One of only 15 stars documented for this Friedberg number, this piece has only appeared once before at auction and that was as a raw note in 2011. It has since been third party graded and with its PCGS grade of 45PPQ, it is now the sole highest graded Fr. 1183* listed in Track & Price. Also, of the 15 stars enumerated in Track & Price, the example in this lot is only the sixth to have earned an EPQ or PPQ grade modifier. The latest example to have crossed the auction block was a PMG 30 graded note that realized $3,904 in our January 2026 auction. Our current higher graded offering should surpass that figure.
