Colorful 1882 $20 Gold Certificate
Fr. 1177 $20 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.Despite some moderate and even wear, the colors remain surprisingly bold on this $20 note. This piece has been off the market since 2006 when it realized nearly $6,000. Any attempt to find even a Very Fine in the 30 to 35 range will prove to be difficult and the price is reflective of the grade rarity, doubling or tripling, depending on eye appeal. Some small edge repairs are noted by PCGS, but are only visible if the note is candled.
